If I am using your FCC certified module along with a second radio operating at a different frequency, does the CEL module FCC certification satisfy the requirements for the FCC on my product or do I still need to have my product FCC certified?

    Hi DX215,

To use our FCC certification you have to use software or hardware to make sure the other radio is not transmitting the same time as our radio when you are within 20 cm.  Please see our Software Design Guidelines regarding co-located transmitters under our ZICM35xSPx product lines, "choosing to use co-located transmitters.

For FCC as long as the customer complies with our datasheet the bulk of the FCC certification is considered completed.  There is a 20cm rule in our datasheet that the customer must follow to use this module certification.

    It states something like this:
“20cm Separation Distance, To comply with FCC/IC RF exposure limits for general population/uncontrolled exposure, the antenna(s) used for this transmitter must be installed to provide a separation distance of at least 20cm from all persons and must not be co-located or operated in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter.”

There is a test that depending on the application (that we consider low risk) having to do with unintentional radiators testing that I believe takes about a day.

As always you will want to work with your FCC representative to ensure all rules and regulations are followed.

    Regards,

    VR
