We are new to ZigBee.  We have sold dozens of products through a well known retail chain but now would like to start making "smart products" for the do-it-yourself market.  How do we get started?  It's overwhelming how much information you need to know.  Are there any DIY standards out there?

    Hi SamDavidson,

We recommend getting a SiLabs development kit EM35x-DEV(-IAR).  Start working with the respective Ecosystem that you are interesting in in parallel with getting up to speed with the development kit.

Some popular DIY Ecosystems are Nest, Hue, Kwikset, Dropcam, Yale, Iris, Belkin, with a new one being created about every month.

    Regards,

    VR

Thanks very much for your response.  We have ordered the SiLabs dev kit you recommended and have started our design.
